The sports physiotherapist plays an important role with prevention, instruction and advice for professional and amateur athletes or anybody thinking of taking up a sport.
The sports physiotherapist helps patients recover from sports related sickness or injury in order to return to work and restart their sporting activities. He also helps and advices experienced athletes who want to compete at the highest levels.
In practice the sport physiotherapist also treats other (more vulnerable) groups, such as elderly people and children, for whom sometimes sports are prescribed as part of a broader therapy.
